Benefits and Costs
The establishment of MRLs for fluazuron in fat and meat-by products of cattle will provide benefits to consumers by contributing to a safe, abundant and affordable food supply. In addition, the industry will benefit by permitting the sale of food products imported from tropical countries where the use of fluazuron is required to control cattle tick.
The governmental cost of administering this amendment to the Regulations may require additional resources to ongoing inspection programs in order to include fluazuron. However, these are not expected to be significant. Adequate analytical methods for analysis of fluazuron are available
